About Carbondale
Carbondale, Colorado, located in Garfield County, was established in 1888 at the meeting point of both the Crystal River and the Roaring Fork River. Initially the community began as a ranching and farming town that provided hay and potatoes to nearby mining communities like Aspen and Glenwood Springs.
While the agricultural roots still show today in many of Carbondale’s families and businesses, the economy is just as diverse; matching its surroundings with arts, outdoor recreation, and sustainable living principles.
Carbondale is recognized as a beautiful and friendly community at the foot of Mount Sopris. It encompasses the small town feel while being progressive in spirit and values its connection to the surrounding environment and an admirable history of being a great place to live.
In recent decades, Carbondale’s population has steadily increased as people move to town seeking local creativity, outdoor living, and a slower pace of life.
Construction is spurred from a combination of demand for new homes and the renovations of existing, older homes.
Builders, contractors, and homeowners all value Timberline Ace as their local hardware store and because we provide locally sourced and eco-friendly building materials .
We offer Business Accounts to local contractors to ensure they have the materials and tools when they need them in order to keep their projects running smoothly.
Gardening in Colorado’s climate has its challenges for residents and Ace Hardware Carbondale has the tools, plants, seeds, and more to help keep gardens thriving all year.
Carbondale’s residential areas celebrate its mixed history of old and new. Downtown Carbondale has historic storefronts encouraging foot traffic to both art galleries and local dining options. The neighborhoods that have developed, like River Valley Ranch and Thompson Park, represent the most recent change of living in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Timberline Ace caters to both pros and weekend warriors with the products that support seasonal maintenance, painting, lawn care, and much more.
Carbondale has maintained a steady pace of growth and development that balances innovation and sustainable living while preserving the community character that draws people to make a life in this mountain town.
